Authors and contributorsSally SacksSally Sacks holds a master's degree in education/counseling psychology and has been in practice for over 20 years. She treats adults, children, families, and couples. Her special area of expertise is in teaching people how their mind works and how to reprogram and transform negative belief systems and thought patterns. Whether a person comes in for marital problems or severe mental illness like depression or anxiety, Sally's focus is on teaching them how their past programming has effected who they are today and how to change the ingrained tapes. Her book, How to Raise the Next President: A Parent's Guide to Giving Your Kid the Secrets of Success identifies the important role of parenting and how we as parents are the early programmers of our children, gearing them for success or failure. She also touches on the role of other early programmers in the child's life to include schools, extra curricular activity leaders, and religious leaders. People's identity are formed by their early programming and many adults' lives are plagued by problems arising from early programmers' only sin: lack of knowledge, lack of awareness. Sally teaches awareness classes locally and nationally. Her focus is on creating healthy foundations in children: foundations that will last a lifetime. Building our emotional foundation successfully is the key to success. Without it, no matter how smart you are or how much money you have, life will be less than successful. Sally currently has a private practice in Westford, Massachusetts. She runs parenting groups and lectures on this subject. She has spoken to schools, hospitals, community centers, churches, and educational organizations. Sally is the mother of two children and a very demanding cat.
