Authors and contributorsGregory KeerGregory Keer is a writer, teacher, and TV guest expert on fatherhood and parenting in general. Each month, he embarrasses himself (and sometimes his family) with his humor column, Family Man. The column appears in parenting publications in the major media markets and those in-between, including L.A. Parent, Boston Parents' Paper, Bay Area Parent, Colorado Parent, Metro Augusta Parent, Long Island Parenting News, and Sydney's Child in Australia. The Family Man online magazine (www.FamilyManOnline.com) was launched in November 2003 and has become a trusted resource (no one is more surprised at this fact than Gregory) of parenting views, news, and community. The site's monthly traffic has grown by a minimum of 50% each month. Visitors read, sign up for the newsletter, and write in emails from all of the country and in parts of the world, including Sweden, Portugal, and South Africa. Content ranges from family entertainment reviews in the Family Man Recommends section to financial planning advice for parents. In addition to his column and magazine, Keer writes for Parenting magazine, the Parents' Choice Foundation, the Oakland Tribune newspaper, and Web publications such as Parenthood.com, JustForMom.com, and PregnancyandBaby.com. Previously, Gregory served as editor of Los Angeles Family magazine and writer-editor for GoCityKids.com. On television, Keer has made live appearances on San Diego's "The Morning Show" (on CBS affiliate KFMB) and "Good Morning Arizona." Recently, he has made on-camera contributions to the Fine Living channel for its Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide (produced by Bungalow 3) to talk about shopping with and for children, and an Essentials segment about spending New Year's Eve with the kids. Along with writing and editing, he teaches high-school English. But his true joys in life are parenting two rambunctious sons (the oldest is 5 and the youngest is 2) and being married to the second smartest person in the world (his wife, Wendy, is a college professor on the subject of child development). In addition, Gregory has authored children's stories, been a music and film critic, and written numerous screenplays. [ Back to Top ] |
