Advertising and Linking Policy

Women's Web is a sole proprietorship monetized exclusively through advertising revenue and commissions earned through affiliate programs (e.g., Amazon, LinkShare); we do not receive funding from lobbyists, advocacy groups, government, or corporate sponsorships.

Terms and Conditions

While we welcome the opportunity participate in link exchanges, we will not link to every site whose webmaster requests such an exchange. Please note that we have very strict guidelines when it comes to link partnerships and that we will not link to sites that

• violate copyright or infringe on intellectual property rights
• promote violence, racism, hatred, or crime
• promote prostitution, pornography, or exploitation
• promote or engage in illegal activities, piracy, or the distribution of warez
• promote online gaming, casinos, or bingo
• promote psychic networks
• sell or promote online pharmaceuticals, herbals, or supplements
• sell or promote enhancements or other sexual aids
• spawn new cascading windows or contain other similar annoying scripts
• are merely repositories of links to other sites
• contain any malicious software, spyware, or adware
• contain broken links, broken graphics, or hotlinked graphics
• are specific to a particular region or jurisidiction (e.g., psychological services in Toronto, Ontario—this is specific to a particular region and alienates site visitors from other regions)

The third-party resources featured on Women's Web are carefully reviewed to ensure they provide something of value to our visitors. We will not participate in so-called "triangular link exchanges" with sites looking only to improve their search engine rankings: content must supplement the topics covered on our site and must also meet high editorial standards. Sites must be content rich and aesthetically pleasing.

Site URLs must be live before advertisments may be placed. When submitting your propsal, please include your site's URL for our review.

Pricing

Since we are not set up to monitor clicks, Women's Web follows a flat-fee structure rather than a customary CPC/CPM structure. For this reason, advertisers are responsible for tracking their own clickthroughs.

Banner pricing is outlined below. Text ads, up to a maximum of 25 words, are also accepted, pending our review.

Payment must be received in full and artwork approved before we can place your banner. Since we do not have an FTP site, artwork must be submitted via email.

Payment may be made in the form of:

• PayPal
• certified cheque
• international money order
• Interac Email Money Transfer/CertaPay (Canadian customers only)

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to advertiers; we cannot, at the present time, accept credit card payments (unless through PayPal) or personal cheques.

Newsletter advertising

While Women's Web may, in its sole discretion, choose to share news releases, affiliate promotions, or timely information about book releases with its newsletter subscribers from time to time, it does not allow third-party advertiers to use its newsletter as a publicity or marketing tool. In addition, our subscriber list is relatively small; it cannot, therefore, promise broad reach to third-party advertisers seeking to communicate to a large email audience.

Because Women's Web respects its members' privacy, it will never sell its list or otherwise disclose to third-party advertisers details about its newsletter subscribers.

Women's Web assumes no responsibility for campaigns' success, and, as an advertiser, you agree to hold Women's Web and its agents harmless in the event of any loss or damages, however caused, incurred as a result of advertising on our site.
